To remain eligible for licensure, New York State Funeral Directors are required to complete twelve (12) hours of continuing education instruction every two years (biennium) inclusive of two (2) hours of instruction focused on New York State law.
Continuing Education Units must be approved by the Department of Health and are available through multiple organizations throughout the state. The Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association is a Registered Statutory Provider with the New York State Bureau of Funeral Directing and hosts an excess of continuing education seminars necessary to maintain licensure.
Once during each biennium, The Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association hosts a symposium and networking event inclusive of continuing education credits offered by regional industry leaders.
Pre-registration is required for attendance at continuing education seminars.
